Drum Lessons in Ardsley, NY: A Local Teacher Right in Town
If you are searching for drum lessons in Ardsley, you have found a teacher who lives and teaches right here in town. I am Rudy Feinauer, a drum teacher in Ardsley, NY. I am a New England Conservatory graduate with more than 35 years of teaching and playing, and I work with students in person and online.
Ardsley is home base. Many of my in person students come from Ardsley and the nearby Westchester towns, and I also teach students around the world over Zoom and FaceTime. Every lesson is built around how the individual student learns.
For kids, teens, and adults
I teach complete beginners who have never held a pair of sticks, students preparing for school ensembles or auditions, and adults returning to an instrument they always wanted to play. Younger children usually start on a practice pad and a snare, and we add the rest of the kit as they grow.
There is no single right age to start. If a child can sit, focus for a short stretch, and follow simple directions, we can begin. For an adult, it is never too late to start.
In person in Ardsley, or online
In person lessons happen here in Ardsley, which is the simplest option for local families. Lessons over Zoom or FaceTime work for students anywhere, and after five years of teaching virtually I run them with the same structure as an in person lesson.
Online students need only a phone or laptop, something to play on, and a quiet spot. Many families start online to see whether drums are a good fit before setting up a full kit at home.
What lessons cost
Lessons start at 50 dollars for 30 minutes, and longer lessons are available for students who want more time. The first lesson is always free, so there is no cost to find out whether we are a good match.
What you need to start
A beginner does not need a full drum set. A practice pad and a pair of sticks are enough for the first weeks, and they are quiet enough for any home. As a student progresses we talk about an electronic kit or an acoustic kit, and I am glad to help you choose without overspending.
The free first lesson
The first lesson is a real lesson, not a sales pitch. We meet, you try the instrument, and you see how I teach. There is no commitment and no cost. It is the easiest way to know whether lessons are right for you or your child.
How to book
