Drum Lessons in Scarsdale, NY: A Local Teacher's Guide for Parents
If you are searching for drum lessons in Scarsdale, you have a few options, from national chains to independent teachers. I am Rudy Feinauer, a drum teacher based in Ardsley, a few minutes from Scarsdale, and I teach students across Westchester both in person and online. Here is a straight look at what to think about, whether you end up studying with me or with someone else.
In person in Ardsley, or online from home
Ardsley is about ten minutes from Scarsdale, so in person lessons are an easy drive. I teach at my studio in Ardsley, where a full kit is already set up, so your child does not need one to get started. I also teach live over Zoom and FaceTime, which works well for busy Scarsdale families juggling school, sports, and everything else. It is the same lesson and the same teacher, from your own home.
What drum lessons cost
My private lessons start at $50 for a 30 minute session, and you can choose longer lessons as a student grows. The first lesson is always free, with no commitment, so you can see if it is a fit before you pay anything.
NYSSMA and school music in Scarsdale
Many Scarsdale students play in school band or want to take a NYSSMA solo. I am a former NYSSMA adjudicator, so I know what the scoring sheet actually rewards: steady tempo, clean dynamics, and confident sight reading. If your child has an evaluation coming up, I can build a prep plan around the piece and the timeline.
